Heart and Soul

Hi guys

Haven't been round these parts for a while, so thought I'd slap up one of my recent images: Heart and half a Soul. Framing isn't too clever but of course didn't realise half the Soul was missing until I processed it, and it's a little late then.

Nikon D70 modded, 55-200 Nikkor at 200mm (full frame), f6.3, 1250iso, Baader Neodymium filter.

29 x 3 min subs for a total of 1 hour 27 mins, unguided EQ5

Darks, flats and bias

Stacked and processed in DSS and CS5, with a little help from Noel's tools.

Haven't used the 200p for a while as the EQ5 can't handle it, so I'm tending to do widefield now with just the 200mm zoom.

Nice wide field. If you turned your camera a little you may captured the entire baby too.

Thanks DugDog. Unfortunately, I mount the camera directly on the mount by bolting it to the dovetail, so turning it isn't possible. I'll equip myself with some sort of accessory that gets around this eventually, assuming one exists.
