I have just returned from Redditch Astronomy Society's monthly meeting where they had a chap called Gary Poyner giving a talk on Variable Stars. A fascinating subject delivered with such enthusiasm that's rare nowadays. If you ever get the chance to hear this guy out then go for it, most educating and enjoyable.
