rocketandroll
That is stunning!!!Damn I can't wait for it to be up high enough at a sensible time of evening! :-)One thing... on my monitor, the second version has lost a lot of detail in the middle of the nebula, it's all very bright, but less contrast... have you tried keeping the extra data set for the outer (feint) bits and using the darker, higher contrast (original) version for the core of the nebula?Dunno, I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination.... but it might be worth a stab?Ben
ollypenrice
You've done a lovely job on that with fine control of the enormous dynamic range. I'm never sure about Ha on M42 since it traces different structures to the RGB and they can cancel each other out, maybe?I reckon it would stand a bit more colour saturation, too?But very classy.Olly

JimStan
I've never seen it presented that way, but that certainly is not to say that that is wrong ! Just another very interesting way to show that we have not seen everything there is to see in a familiar part of the sky !Nice job ! Ji S.
