Long exposure photography tracking platform

Hi all

Just wanted to run an idea i had last night whilst looking at the clouds!!!!!!!

I have been given a etx 90 with a broken tube. Everything else works tho. It even has the deluxe field tripod with the wedge. I was thinking that if i made a platform to go across the fork arms, (where the tube would sit) with a bolt through the centre to take a camera, lens etc, then i would have a goto wide field astrophotography tripod.

Anyone think that this could be feasible????

As i said, its just a thought...............

Should make an excellent camera platform for short focus camera use on wide fields. Go for it!
