Best Eyepieces For A Skyliner 150P Dobsonian

Recommended Posts

Unless the standard eyepieces are giving dreadful views, why not save the pennies for a bigger scope. You'll want one soon enough!

Nothing wrong with generic Plossls for everyday (night?) viewing, if you must upgrade. Wait for your "long time keeper" scope before you go for the hand grenades!

A 2x Barlow will give you a choice of magnifications.

Hi GordyB,

Whilst agree to an extent with Derekm in not spending loads of dosh. The BST explorer range start at c£35 and provide a good path up from the supplied lenses with most scopes.

If you buy a couple of these and a barlow, you will be able to utilise these when you change scopes!

BST Explorer will give good good focus nearly out to the edge of the fov.

There is not much wrong with supplied eyepieces. You'll find that if you take them apart, thorughly clean the lenses and blacken the sides of each lens with a permanent marker they will give better results.
