I still believe that little mount as potentials :)

Added my Orion finder to the mount to do a proper polar alignment.

Will have to move the RA motor slightly out to clear the finder, watch this space :(

IIRC Steve (steppenwolf) and John (jgs001) have both "modified" the eq-1's for use as camera mounts...

How are you planning to align the finderscope to the mount axis? Sight along it maybe?

I'm looking forward to seeing the results that you get should work quite well at shorter fl's...

That's neat and substantial - I did a similar mod but used an RDF but I do like your method as it uses a crosshair and magnification. How will you know when the finder itself is aligned with the mount's RA axis? I align my RDF visually by checking that it is parallel with the mount.

I have a cunning plan :(, I'll use my HTC desire phone and use the Bubble app to make sure it's parallel to the mount. It will work :)
