Tron
Does anybody know of any good filter cases, I was checking out PILL boxes on Amazon Saw some that might hold 1.25" filters.Anybody got any good ideas for cases?I hate fiddling with separate cases, perhaps a flip top multiple case of 4 or 6 holders. glowjet
Try Ebay, they had some lovely semi clear screw top cream boxes a little while ago, that took up to a "2 filter, sold in packs of 9 and very reasonably priced.
Tron
I hate eBay I also don't want to spend astronomical prices on a single filter box in a specialist store lol.I was looking more for a case that can hold 3 or 6 with an easy flip up lid on each one (or the whole case).4 or 5 GBP for a single 1.25" filter case is overpriced especially if I want 6 or more. boxes usually cost about that and can hold 6 or more.I was searching and found something like these...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Travelproof-Travel-Pill-Case/dp/B001EA4HOK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1318943849&sr=8-10http://www.amazon.co.uk/Travel-Blue-Pill-Box-Cat/dp/B000R2DQ7A/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1318943869&sr=8-25http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coloured-Weekly-Organiser-Storage-Container/dp/B005FLD4YI/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&qid=1318943902&sr=8-40Maybe a fishermans tackle box hmm http://www.amazon.co.uk/BryTec-Fishing-Tackle-Flip-Top/dp/B001H4EOQO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318943976&sr=8-
MjrTom
4 or 5 GBP for a single 1.25" filter case is overpriced especially if I want 6 or more.It holds 4x 1.25" filters if you read the description
Tron
It holds 4x 1.25" filters if you read the description Yes but i was hoping for more one with separate compartments Basically that is a 2" case and they say you can squeeze 4 1.25" filters into it. great_bear
Or of course, there's the Great Bear method:- Simply screw all your filters together and stick them into an eyepiece bolt case!Been working fine for me ever since I had the "What filter case should I buy?" dilema - and it's less fiddly in the dark than filter cases are! MjrTom
Except the one you always want is in the middle of the stack 30 second job.if that... Your not going to beat a quid each.
Tron
30 second job.if that... Your not going to beat a quid each.Sure but I only like to handle what I use at that time instead of all the filters while I unscrew them to get at the one I want.Given that each filter costs between 50 to 200 GBP I would rather keep them separate lol
great_bear
I've found it safe enough - and not a problem with a filter being in the middle of the stack - and I do use them most nights. The stack is nice and solid and robust - I'm less likely to drop a filter or the entire stack than I am a bunch of individual ones in a shared case. Knowing me, one would get stuck and as I tap it out, the others would fall all over the place and roll down drain covers and suchlike!
