meade 5000 series 26mm opinions please

Can anyone who maybe has a meade 5000 series 26mm eyepiece give me any comments on it. I have the chance to buy one reasonably cheap and would welcome any feedback on its use with a skywatcher 200. Thanks. Oh by the way, with the same scope, can anyone recommend a good 2" eyepiece.

Hi Pro,

I have the 20, 14, & 9mm 5000 plossl.

With a long focal length scope like my F10 LX200, I think they are superb. To the point where the 20mm was (IMHO) superior to a 20mm Televue plossl I had at the time. :shock:

However, I also tried them on an F4 LXD, and they were much different. Their correction left alot to be desired with such a fast scope.

So...I would base your decision on the focal length of your scope.

Dont know about the meade but Orion is selling a 2" http://stargazerslounge.co.uk/index.php?topic=12790.0 which seems to get good reports. Again though need to check its OK with a f5 scope, sure someone will be along shortly

Terry, if you are going to the SGL Star Party, I will have my Meade Series 5000 eyepiece set (I recently added the 26mm).
