SW127 possible to upgrade existing mount or purchase separate

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've just purchased a used Skywatcher 127 and it came with a sky scan (manufacturer) mount.

Is it possible to upgrade the mount to a goto unit? or best sell the mount and invest in a separate goto unit?

Weight and portability is an issue (caravan...), have seen the skywatcher-az-goto-mount (First Light Optics - Skywatcher AZ GOTO mount) in FLO.

Does anyone have any issues with stability on this mount.

Will be using scope for planetary and light DSO work

SkyScans are GoTo mounts and trust you were supplied with a handset.

If haven't a manual, google Skywatcher and download from there.

Looking at the small pictures you have a small EQ mount if it is what you purchased. Whatever the fixing method, it should be possible to mount it on theSkyScan.

Hope this helps, otherwise come back so that your problem can be solved.
