No, not that sort:) , but being fairly new to all this, and living on a windy coast, I have been reluctant to take my telescope out in blustery conditions for fear of dust getting in the tube causing mayhem.

Am I right to think this, or am I being a tad too reserved?

A lot depends on the scope you have and what's getting in. If you are in conditions where sand or similar can get in then I may be concerned.

Further would be the blustery conditions are going to make seeing a bit difficult with the scope moving about.

Perhaps you could give us more info on the gear you have,

Wow, thanks for the quick replies!

It's a SW 150P EQ3-2 mount.

I do put up tarpaulin to protect from light pollution, but it does get mighty windy round here with a lot of sand in the air.

Difficult question I know, but what sort of wind speeds do peeps reckon I'd be safe with?

Thanks all.

When you cant see your target because of shake, that'll be your limit.

Different set ups will give better or worse seeing in the same conditions. I think it's a case of suck it and see.
