AZ4 Mount Question

Does anyone know if the AZ4 mount can be bought without the tripod legs? I have the steel leg tripod that came with the EQ5 and as far as i know they are the same.

The AZ-4 is sold with either the EQ5 tripod or a lightweight aluminum tripod. It's not available as just a mount head as far as I am aware. It is compatible with the EQ5 / HEQ5 type tripod tops so switching between these types is easy. I have mine on a CG5 tripod which has the 2" steel legs - very solid !.

It's probably worth asking at someone like FLO/ Rother Valley Optics as it can be bought with different legs.

But I bet it would be cheaper buying a used one from the for sale section (There was one for sale recently).

Thanks guys, I was hoping it could be bought seperately as my EQ5 now lives on the pier and i thought it would make a great grab and go solution.

Hi Damo,

Great grab & go put my st120 and occasionally 127mm on the az4 with the steel legs! Goes in the roof box no worries!
