Which Barlow/Powermate for C9.25?

For planetary imagingwith a webcam am I right in thinking a FL of 25 is about right? If so is the Televue x2.5 the way forward? Can I use it for visual as effectivly as say a x2 Televue Barlow (it would be handy if it did both jobs but not essential)

I have a cheap Antares Barlow at the moment and it's rubbish!

cant advise you as i preffer lots of eps instead of barlows. but heard the antares barlow was very good, is it colimated ok. and what do you mean rubbish!

For a ICX098 (Philips or alike) webcam f/20-25 is around max f-ratio you should use, and in general it will be hard to get a good image at such f-ratio without a very good seeing (so Barlow may not be the problem, but the seeing... and webcam).

The viewing through the Antares always seems poor to me unless I am expecting too much, even with a mid range eyepiece like a 19mm Panoptic. The same applies if I ever try it with the webcam.

Is a FL of 25 only achievable if you step up to something like a DMK then?

It will be also seeing demanding but bit easier than with a webcam.
