Synscan handset swap

Hi, potentially foolish question here.

if i have a Skywatcher Skymax 102 SynScan AZ GOTO will i be able to migrate the synscan handset to a new Skywatcher Skyliner 300P FlexTube AUTO and therefore save myself 300GBP?

Yes can't see why that wont work, think it has been done by a few on here, just try it you cant break anything.

Anyone has tried this? Not that I don't believe the above, would just like a confirmation?

I've done it - it works - I got the 300P Flextube auto and a smaller sysncan az goto mount and simply switched the handsets - they both work in either mount.

Make sure the handset it above v3.0 - the ones below that version don't work this way. You may also want to upgrade the az sysncan goto handset firmware to the latest revision.
