Eliptical Galaxies?

Recommended Posts

I've never seen one through my scope and was wondering if they were even visible through a 10" scope? If so whats the best bet for me to try?

As stated above M32 would probably be the easiest target. I can see it with a 5" Newtonian from my quite light polluted skies in a Stockholm suburb. You should have no problem to locate M31 (Andromeda Galaxy). Just below it (above it in a Newtonian) there are a group of four stars (if I remember correctly). One of them is a little fuzzier than the others - that's M32. Took me a while to understand that one of the "stars" was actually a galaxy. Can't say the view is spectacular with my equipment from my location but at least it's possible to see it.
