I took our PST to work today:

This was my first serious attempt at photography with the Coronado, and was taken with a Nikon D700 through the much-recommended 8-24mm.

I really love this solar imaging lark already. I know I have a long way to go, but I was really pleased with a result like this after so little time.

Thanks, Alexandra. It really was a spectacular sight yesterday. The photo doesn't do justice to that prominence to the right. It was astounding visually. I could really get a sense of the prominence eminating from the spot beneath it. It had a real depth to it. The 8-24mm was perfect for viewing it, too. Great combination of scope and eyepiece. Couldn't be happier with either. :glasses2:

As you can see from the image, however, I'm still getting used to the tuning. It's fascinating watching features appear and disappear as you adjust the etalon.

Good one. That prom was incredibly bright but I had to leave the house and only returned as the sun was setting so I never saw how it evolved. The following day there was just a giant sunspot in that area, no prom visible, so I wonder what it did?
