The Sun 19 September 2011 white light

I'm starting to have trouble getting decent images on the days when I'm at work - The Sun is low over the neighbours houses and seeing is very poor by the time I get home, especially noticeable in the webcam close-ups. I may have to give up on these soon and just try for the full disc. Anyway the full disc is still interesting with a new spot group (AR 1301) coming into view!

It's frightening how fast the sun seems to be dropping, you have excellent pictures though! I really like the overlay of the disc with the latitude and longitude lines, how do you achieve this?

I use "Tilting Sun" software - its free. Just select the lines and copy and paste over an image that has been pre-sized so both match. It is important that you line up your original image correctly in the camera first!

Excellent images! Scary how quick the sun seems to be lowering in the sky as we approach the equinox.
