Ags
I am using DSS 3.3.2 but it seems unable to stack my CR2 files from my Canon 1100D. Instead of stacking them correctly, it seems to only process a narrow strip of the file. I have been reduced to stacking JPEGs so any help would be appreciated.I've attached a representative file, my master dark. All the images come out the same shape. EDIT: I can't seem to upload the file. But all it is is a ribbon-shaped TIFF.I am just using the default settings in DSS, except for adjusting the star threshhold. Psychobilly
It usually takes a while for software to catch up with the variations in raws from new cams... Your not the first person to have this problem DSLR Imaging, winging my way through. [Archive] - Stargazers LoungeCant find a solution in the DSS yahoo group either yet...Apart from converting all the raws to tiff's and then processing them that is... Ags
OK, I can process the files to TIFFs (linear TIFFs is I think the right type) but do you know a good (freeware) batch converter? I dare not spend any more money until christmas... :-(

Ags
I will find out tonight - I have 60 subs of M31 waiting for when I get back from work tonight! Hopefully I can do the initial stretch in DPP before going to Gimp and losing the bit depth.
Ags
The tiffs stacked just fine but I had two new problems. Firstly I horribly overexposed my flats making them useless, and secondly the tiff generated by DSS won't open in DPP so I can't stretch outside of Gimp.I'll shoot some emergency flats tonight to at least correct for the vignetting and restack. Hopefully I can find an option in DSS to export a tiff compatible with DPP.
Psychobilly
There are are few tiff setting to keep an eye on in DSS... The tweaks made in DSS can be applied or embedded... then there are compression options... and bit depths...http://deepskystacker.free.fr/english/faq.htmYou should be able to open it in DSS and then save it in the correct sub format...
