There's lots going on on the sun at the moment!

These were taken yesterday (between rather a lot of both low and high cloud) with the Lunt/Megrez72 and the DMK41 camera.

I actually prefer the B&W I think.

I tried some higher resolution shots with the PSTMod, but the seeing and tracking propblems conspired against me and I just can't get them sharp. I'm rather disappointed, as the prom activity was really great yesterday

That's a rather good full disk. You running at the full 72mm aperture?

Thanks Mark. No I've only got a 50mm filter :-( The Lunt is so much more grab and go than the PST Mod though as it works really well on the little SE mount.

For 50mm the image is even more impressive then, looks like that etalon has quite a tight bandwidth. I prefer the b&w too - shows more detail...

Personally I prefer the crispness of the b/w image. The colour just makes the image 'pretty' but tends to hide the subtle details.

Both look great Helen. B/W maybe has the edge.

Nice images Helen. Definitely the black & white for features although the coloured versions is very nicely processed.
