ISS solar transit 12 September 2011

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Here's my second effort at imaging an ISS solar transit in three days (my first was on Friday here)

I braved the hurricane winds and captured these images with my Canon 450d fixed to my 250mm f/4.7 Newtonian plus Baader solar film, taking images continuously at about 3 frames per second. ISO 400 @ 1/1250 second. The transit was scheduled for 13:50:05 UT, so I ran the camera for 10 seconds either side of that time.

Not wildly sharp, with terrible seeing, but a fairly good result considering.

Working close to my obsy means I can catch up with things like this during my working day. My office is only 10 metres from the obsy! Can anyone beat that?
