do i need an ir/uv filter for neximage on jupiter?

An IR Pass (as its name suggests) is a filter that cuts wavelengths below the IR wavelengths - i.e. higher than the Red channel.

This suffers much less from distortion than the other colours so you get a sharper image.

However, as you are not using a filter wheel, you won't have the time to change filters before you suffer from rotation on the planet.

So, just stick with the IR/UV filter :)
