dark side of the moon you never see

Has nasa ever taken infra red photos or photos of the dark side of the moon ....or used special tec to take photos any at all any joe public have seen ? :rolleyes:

The other side of the moon isn't dark - so no special techniques are required to photograph it, other than getting around the back to take some snaps, like this one:

The dark side of the moon faces earth every new moon, in effect every 29 and a bit days.

I am guessing that a hell of a lot of people have pointed IR cameras etc at it.

Would suspect that a decent sized scope would show some of the surface from the small amount of reflected light from the earth.
