Very twinkly star

Very clear with me tonight. I just looked out of my window towards a West to North Westerly direction and noticed a star in the sky that is twinkling franticly.

Does anyone know why this is?

Could it be high atmospheric distiortion because it is low in the sky or could it be a star that is dying? It looks rather red.

I would be interested to hear peoples opinions and if anyone else can see it.

I think the one ur referring to is Capella it's twinkling motion is caused by its lowness in the sky and the atmosphere reflection.

Yes I do but I was having a bit of difficulty identifying the star.
