Does brand matter in Filters?

Hi folks,

I'm just about to buy an IR blocking filter for webcam photography but when it comes to the IR cut filters does brand really matter?.

Baader do one for about £37 and then you can pick much cheaper version for £14 from Morgans, are IR cut filters quite generic and are you just paying for brand and the clever milling on the lens frame or is there a real difference in coatings?.

Thanks

Perhaps for webcaming it's not so important, but when you have a larger more sensative ccd, the optical flatness and the consistency of the coatings are important as is parfocal performance with other filters if using a wheel etc.

Baader are a good brand and you wouldn't go wrong with them...

Cheers
