QHY5 on PHD

This is a very basic question! What is the QHY5 under in the camera drop down list?

I can't see it??!!

Go to camera - find ASCOM cameras (at the bottom of the list on mine), click and a second (ASCOM) window opens - select the QHY5 from that.

Under Ascom. You then choose the QHY5 from the Ascom dialog box. Do you have Ascom installed?

If you aren't using ASCOM (using the old 1024 drivers) I think it's a QGuider.

You also may need to copy the CMOSdll.dll from the QHY folder to the PHD folder.

I have Ascom installed, I have two Ascom choices at the bottom of the list:

Ascom v5 camera

Ascom (late) camera

If I click either the only choices I get are camera v2 simulator or simulator.

I have downloaded the QHY5 drivers from QHY, I must have missed doing something simple somewhere?!

Ascom v5 camera is the one to use but as Kh3ldar says its a bit fussy! You may have to unload and reload the drivers.

Download latest QHY5 driver and QHY5 ASCOM driver: QHY CCD software Download

Then in PHD under ASCOM cameras it should be listed and "just work". QGVideo may be also handy for camera preview/focusing etc. (Before starting PHD).

As said, pick QGuider from the drop down list and if using the ST4 guiding port, set the scope mount to the camera driven option.

I use this all the time and works perfectly and now need for ascom.

If you are still having problems, have a word with Bern at Modern Astronomy ( he is the font of all knowledge on the QHY5).

I was having problems and after discussing it with Bern he put me right.

He sent me a CD with software to remove any traces of previously installed QHY5 software and a further program to download the latest QHY5 software>

Worked for me

Thanks for all the replies, I think I may have it now after re-installing the drivers a number of times. I have yet to try it in the field but at least PHD is recognising it now.
