Dumbell nebula

This is an image of the dumbell nebula I took last saturday night with my 6se and 1000d.

It consists of 10x 45s unguided subs and 6 darks at ISO800.

It's only my second real attempt at deep sky and my first at a Nebula.

I have had a little play, I hope you don't mind.

There is a lot of gradient in there it would be worth taking some Flats.

That looks a lot better Earl. I've only used levels and curves in photoshop, I'm not quite sure how to use gradients.

A good start. If you add around 20-30 darks and take, say, 100 subs(!!) you will be well on your way. Don't worry too much about fancy processing- it is difficult and takes time to learn - go one step at a time and you will progress.
