M13 airbrush drawing

Nicely done. M13 is good object to push the magnification up. You should start to be able to resolve the individual stars around the edges of the cluster. I know it's not easy with the light summer skies, but things will only improve over the next few months. Keep sketching.

Excellent job Vega. I'm sooo jealous, i have the artistic talent of a four year old.:)

In answer to your question, 56x may possibly show stars around the edges but with a small scope you really need to bump up the mag to pick out the stars.

Globulars take high magnification well even with a small scope, try 100x plus.

I regularly use 150x on m13 with my 80mm refractor. You won't get views like in a larger scope, but should be able to pick out some individual stars on a really good clear night.Give it a try.
