6" F8 frac mount question.

Guys,

Getting myself an Helios 6"F8 frac next month.

I owned one before, mounted on an HEQ5, no problem. This time I'm thinking of the Celestron CG-5T GoTo.

Does anyone have any info as to the mounts capabilities?

Does anyone operate the same set up. Any feedback much appreciated.

I have a f8 Skywatcher 6" Refractor and use it both on an EQ5 and HEQ5.

Sure its a little shakey on an EQ5 but it was ok as long as I had the

motors doing the tracking. I think you should be able to use it on the

CG-5T but think it would be much better on a HEQ5.

For this particular scope, would there be a noticeable difference between the EQ6 and the HEQ5? Just wondering, if I was offered an HEQ5 as an upgrade to the GP should I hold off for the EQ6 for a more noticeable improvement in sturdiness?

Hmmm not sure as I've never used an EQ6 but I think the HEQ5

would be more than adequate for visual. The EQ6 would be better if

you wanted to image through the scope as the size of the scope

will act like abit of a sail even with an HEQ5.
