Took these whilst sailing past on June 3 2006.

The Herschel Telescope Array. Fantastic sight, all the domes catching the sunlight above the clouds.

And cropped to remove dust bunnies for a panoramic view.

Great sight - I've seen them close up but not from that vantage point.

I may be going on a 'Lads holiday' this October to Tenerife. I got strange looks when I mentioned a night up at the observatory! Still, it's only open to the public one day a year, and that isn't in October.

There's not a chance in hell of getting to go to the Observatory on Tenerife. I wrote and emailed them on numerous occasions as my aunty has an apartment there. Not a single response.

I thought as much. I had a look on their website a while ago and it seemed very austere.
