Binoculars showing a double image

Recommended Posts

Here's the thing, I lent a pair of binoculars to my boss and when I looked through them recently have a double image, like they're boss eyed, would anyone know if this is an easy repair, or are new binos the best option, they are Helios 7x50's

It sounds like they have been knocked and are now out of collimation, as it was your Boss you could challenge him about it and ask for a new pair, on the other hand if you like your job Don`t :)

I had the same problem with my Bresser 10x50's, I lent them to someone, they got knocked, and came back with double vision. I collimated them and it worked well. I wasn't too worried, as these were a Lidl £11 pair, and reading online the procedure looked easy. I just took it very slowly and very carefully. I can understand Ad Astra's concerns though.
