Unguided starfield around NGC7000

Spent a bit of time on polar alignment tonight and seemed to pay off - not as good as some of the autoguided stuff in here, but pleased with the result, considering we have more light pollution than Las Vegas & Abu Dhabi combined here in Basildon, Essex.

Used an MPCC (Coma corrector) and SW LPR filter.

EDIT - Can anyone suggest a good way to remove some of the vignetting? This is the result AFTER using flats (the version without flats is a lot worse) - this has also had some Photoshop processing applied to reduce some vignette - any advice would be gratefully received.

Try using the Exposure tools in Photoshop.......Gamma Correction will help reduce the vignetting........ play with the sliders till you are happy with the result.

What version of Photoshop

I haven't tried it as I use Gradient Exterminator or the Lens Correction tools in CS3 onwards...

but I did find this free plug-in

Even better - as you have photoshop - download GradientXTerminator, it will deal with that gradient in no time.

The problem with just adjusting levels is that you end up over-clipping anything that isn't in the centre of the image.

Nice. You certainly have good round stars there. Just wondered what was the length of the exposure you used?
