Hi

Was wondering if the foot is dovetailed to fit into vixen mount shoe without the need of bracket etc. I've heard that this telescope is being discontinued so i may be interested in a purchasing one.

I would want to fit it to a porta mount for a light setup.

Not really relevant but I have a Celestron 80ED (OTA) in the forsale section.

On my big (127) Meade 5000 the built in dovetail rail was not dovetail section for quite long enough to fit into an EQ6 saddle plate but would fit into an HEQ5. However, duly filed for ten minutes it fitted very nicely in an EQ6!

Thanks Olly do you think it would be ok for a vixen porta mount - without any modifications! The travel would be mush less so i'm thinking it should fit quite nicely.

I'm afraid I don't know the Porta but you could ask an owner how long the saddle plate is and ditto for an EQ6.
