On the radio yesterday

our local station (Radio Forth) had a piece on the news yesterday saying the Dept of Transport (I think it was them) anyway they had plans at an early stage for possibly switching off the motorway lights during the night. Is this the first move to getting some darker skies?

I think the debate is swinging towards the cost/co2 reasoning.

The cost of lighting "empty" roads/streets after midnight must be HUGE.

If we can win the debate on the Night Sky point then maybe £££ will win it for us.

There was a piece on the subject on Radio Five during the week. Looks like ££ will be the deciding factor.
