I managed a 10 minute sub

I struggle to focus the D40. The Bahtinov image too small through the viewfinder (no live view)

2 X 10 min

Complete guesswork in CS2. Invested in Noels Actions. These seem great value.

Not sure I have the patience for DSO imaging going forward. I might flog the 80ED for a focus wheel and filters (planetary is much less of a faff )

Well, your guiding is working well - took me a lot longer than 2 goes before I got results like this - nice image!

Very good effort Jon. Is that NGC 6207 I see to the side ? I think you should give it a bit more of a chance before you knock it on the head. Everything is difficult in the beginning but I'd like to bet once you have done it a few times it won't seem so much faffing around and before you know it you'll be chasing the ever subtle detail in Nebula's like you do in planetary imaging.
