Hi all

I was just wondering i have read on here a few times about using a webcam setup on a dob. just wondering if there is any special webcam for telescopes etc?

The most cost effective one at the moment is the SPC880 (flashed up to SPC900) from Morgans website. To fit it to a scope there's a nosepiece adaptor on the same page. Some people have had reasonable planetary results with a dob in good seeing and careful nudging - better if it's motorised

Get an IR cut filter as well, if you can.

thanks just what i was looking for, think I'll go for the bundle that has the IR filter and adaptor as well. Is this setup only for planets or can it be used for dso?

Any webcam will do.

Recommended are the ones with CCD chip instead of CMOS chip.

Also you need Mogg adapter.
