Astronomik CCD OIII filter

Hi SGL, I have an Astronomik CCD OIII filter, I have used it for trying to look at Nebula in the past and the views have not turned out very well, especially M97 (Owl Nebula). My question is, does the CCD OIII filter work for visual viewing or is it only good with a CCD camera:confused: Would I need to buy another OIII to get good views of Nebula, not CCD type?

Any comments to this question would be most grateful.

The CCD filter is for CCD. It has a bandpass too limited for visual use and I guess will be too opaque to help. I use a Baader O111 visual and find it great on many nebulae, notably the Veil.

I have the visual version of the Astronomik O-III filter in the 2" format and it's a superb filter - the best I've ever used
