  1. Hi Maurizio, your captures with the C8 are always very good. Apart your personal ability in imaging and processing, It must be a very good sample of C8 I guess. CS Paolo
  2. A short animation of the 10-19-22 captures. All original size 640x480. CS Paolo
  3. Hi Vlaiv, thank you and very interesting analisys. Actually the 3400mm estimate wasn't mine but suggested by another imager who made this calculation on the basis of a previous image of mine shot with the same parameters. I bought the 1.5x barlow just to get close to the "ideal" sampling rate of 5x as suggested by many. Below you can see 2 pictures taken in the days before that were not resized to 120% . Can you verify the correct focal lenght and judge the image quality? CS paolo
  4. Hi Yelsac, thank you. I'm using a ZWO ASI 385 MC with a 1.5x barlow, although the focal lenght is probably more than the nominal 2700 mm it should be, probably around 3400 mm, so sampling rate should be around 5 pix or 6 pix per arcsec. The picture had a ROI of 640x480 but was resized to 120%.
  5. Jupiter and Io with shadow transit. CS Paolo
  6. Jupiter in the last 2 nights with a variable seeing, good at moments, shot with the Mak 150. Stacked around 4500 shot at 120-130 fps in both cases. CS Paolo
  7. Jupiter in a window of good seeing on 9/13/2022. SW Mak 150 @ 2700mm -ZWO ASI 385MC ir-uv cut filter. 5000 frames, 7.6 ms, gain 356, 120 fps, ROI 800x600. CS Paolo PS: Someone is suggesting me that I am probably running at much more than 2700mm, maybe 3400 on the basis of the pixel size of the planet. I'm using a nominal 1.5x barlow but the lenght of the standard skymax 2" visual back might increase the magnification factor of the barlow.🤔
  8. Great capture Maurizio, wish I could take this level of picture with my dissapointing 8" Meade 203 emc ☹️. CS Paolo
  9. A little gif animation of this morning captures. Skymax 150 @2700 mm, ZWO ASI 385MC on Ioptron Gem 28. Poor to medium seeing. CS Paolo
  10. And another one from the 5th, same set-up and frame number. CS Paolo
  11. The new Jupiter season has started so I'm posting my first shots with my new set-up (Skymax 150 on Gem28). Picture taken on the 3rd of august. Mak 150 @ 2700 mm fl - ZWO ASI 385 MC, 1900 frames stacked. CS Paolo
  12. I think that the higher crop factor makes the difference, together with being southernmost. CS Paolo
  13. Inspired by Victor's post I decided to try to shoot jupiter with my Evostar 72 as well. So yesterday evening in a rare moment of clear sky I imaged with the 72 ED, a barlow 2X with an extender that probably makes it 2,5X and a ZWO ASI 385 MC that with its small sensor gives a high crop factor. Seeing was mediocre, FPS about 70 (only an old notebook with USB2 available at the moment), some 5000 frames stacked. The result was better than expected, obviously the details are not very fine, but from such a small aperture...Colour correction of this scope on the other hand seems to be very good. CS Paolo
  14. Tonight with a slightly better seeing Io shadow transit. CS Paolo
