As described in a different thread, the fruits of another speculative bid.  Not a blemish.  I actually quite like the Altair green.

But my God, it's heavy!  It might qualify as my first "hand grenade".

At the  moment there is a 200p Dobsonian sitting in the lounge because the garage is too full of rubbish and will be until our son removes his unwanted furniture.

Not a word has yet been made about the Dob but if I step out of line I suspect that may change.

Sell the furniture and buy another scope 😉

Dave , how dirty is the mirror ? Lets face it , we've all been a bit paranoid about wanting to clean a scope mirror . I had a scope that had all sorts of mirror issues but it still showed nice bright views and it was almost opaque !!! . I suppose what i am saying is , unless its really impacting on your viewing , leave it alone . Although i honestly can relate to the temptation you feel to clean it .

I have a new duel speed focuser to fit and was going to flock the tube , so I thought I'd might aswell clean it as it will be coming out.

I think I might have pinched optics aswell when I focus or defoucus for a star test it looks  like a triangle Shape but collinmation looks ok

I’ve already got the majority of them and I am not getting the 30mm due to them being bad for coma. I only need the 18mm and I have it pre ordered. Will you have to pay import duty on your American bought eyepieces?

Hopefully not ,his sending them as a gift and under the import tax bracket

  5. Hi all .

I would like to clean my primary mirror I'm a bit nervous,   views are still good but it's a bit grubby and when I flock the ota I'll have to take it out anyway.

Just wondering if this cotton wool would be ok or should I just use my fingers and a dab of washing liquid.  I've already ordered the distilled water.

  6. It's been 1 month and 1 day since I last got the dob out.

I brought a duel speed focuser to try out , bad weather,  brought a new camera,  bad weather,  brought some more ep's, more bad weather, and the next few weeks don't look good either.

Mrs S  is not happy ,me spending the money and not being able to sun bath because of the weather 🤣

Must stop buying new equipment , do you ever have enough  to satisfy your needs.

Cute! - If they bark they're doing their job of alerting you.  A dog is by far the best alarm system.
I've kept Airedales my entire life. They're naturally friendly but know when not to be, and can detect a gamin breaking into the neighbour's and then find out if they can run at 40mph up the street.

The problem is they don't bark they yap, they yap at everything  and scared of everything as well   its funny my cats chase them and they run off yapping

Probably not terribly helpful but it's taken 36years to complete my Circle T set.

    Is that a record?

Just when you've explored every possibility, given up, someone will offer a minty for sale.😉

Eyepieces are like buses, you wait ages, then three come along together.

I don't get any buses around my way , living in the middle of nowhere,  I would be waiting a long time , It would be quicker getting a tractor 🚜 🤣
