  1. Yes, I think I might have to look for another motor as the two I have at the moment, one is only 10 rpm but the other one is 3000 rpm. As I have a speed controller forward and reverse which I could use on this. I think this motor is a bit heavy. I have ordered some momentary switch buttons which I think will help me. This is what I was playing with in the garage moments before I saw your last thread.
  2. I have one of these motors and was thinking of using it for the same thing, but at 10rpm i thought it would be a little slow how do you find it?
  3. Hi, really great video, I am so envious that you have seen this for real. I will never probably have the opportunity so really nice to see the video.
  4. I believe these are all variations of autoblog domains for WordPress If you have not heard of them before google (autoblog plugin) Its a very fast way of setting up cheap web sites by the thousands if you wish. The first one I ever saw was (blogsolution) now gone but you can still read about it on the wayback machine https://web.archive.org/web/20070624224053/http://www.theblogsolution.com/why/ Trying to explain how it all works would mean writing a book. There are lots of different variations and they are unavoidable as more companies add them to their marketing machines.
  5. Postman been again So I can now control my NEQ6 Pro with my phone, Would have been really easy to setup if the instructions held the correct broadcasting I.D. for the WiFi. But no, instructions said it would broadcast as SynScan WiFi #### when in reality it was broadcasting as ESP-CEDA15. Once I had figured this out it was a breeze. 😁
  6. Hello Hollie, It is a difficult decision to make to decide what to start the hobby with. Your telescope 130 x 900 is quite a long focal length. Which is good for planets and the moon but there is a limited number of planets you can view. So I would look at the 130 PDS OTA as it is slightly shorter but can still give you great views of planets and star clusters etc. You may want to read this thread Imaging with the 130pds to give you an idea of what the scope can do. As for the stand try and pick up a second hand Skywatcher EQ3 to start with. As the type of stand will become more important the deeper you get into the hobby. Best bet to try and visit a club and see what members are using and how they work as to what will suit your needs best. You can spend a lot of money on this hobby and getting it right in the beginning can save a lot. Regards Pete
  7. Little big for the postman but did turn up today. All I need now is some clear skies .
  8. If you drill or file an edge cast iron would make a fine black swarf that makes no end of mess. Aluminium would produce a chip Here is a picture showing the grain structure of aluminium at the top, cast iron at the bottom Pete
  9. The metal looks like grey cast iron,it is not unusual to see inclusions after the casting has been machined. The mount that is broken could probably be braised to affect a repair. Pete
