Hi Vlaiv
A few years ago for a bit of fun I used the COAA software and an inkjet printer at 300dpi to make a rough and ready diffraction grating for the front end of my refractor. Other than proving it works I have done little with the data but I was interested to read your thoughts about this approach.

On my doormat this morning ............. a Baader Ultra Short Canon EOS T-Ring......... and it has sorted out my 'back focus issue'....... so thanks very much FLO - quick, efficient and just what I needed.
George - currently under too much moonlight in Lowestoft (having said that, its preferable to the unrelenting rain we've currently been enjoying)

Had some problems with the operation of the first Star Adventurer delivered to my house. My email to First Light Optics was acted upon within a few hours and from that moment onwards I received excellent customer support. This week I received a fully operational replacement. FLO organised all the transport arrangements for the replacement and return of the old unit. The process was seamless. As a retired company director with past responsibilities for customer satisfaction I was much impressed by Steve B at FLO. I consider myself a valued customer and cannot wait to get imaging with my new Star Adventurer.
Thank you very much FLO team

I always recommend 'Turn Left at Orion' to those newcomers considering turning binoculars or a telescope skyward. The drawings reflect what you are likely to see but the enthusiasm of the authors for searching the skies 'shines through'. I'm sure, one of the reasons it has taken me so long to find some of the fainter DSOs for the first time, is careless text in magazines or books presumably written by the 'eagle eyed'. As far as I'm concerned seeing the Crab Nebula through binoculars, however dark the site, is not a tenable proposition.
As for hyped up photos, I consider myself one of the worst culprits for the over deployment of Photoshop. My wife, who is very supportive of my overly focused liking for astronomy and digital imaging, keeps me well and truly grounded, when it starts getting technicolor, she starts humming "When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears...". It may not be reality, whatever that might be, but I really enjoy myself, looking at the stars, looking through an eyepiece or messing about with images on a laptop (the last of which you can do when its chucking it down).

Thanks from me to James. Very clear and straight forward information which I found very useful.

A beautiful mosaic, great detail at high res and use of saturated colour both informative yet subtle. Great piece of work.
