A google for the error code with StarNet shows a few messages here on SGL and CloudyNights all saying it was an old cpu or one that did not support AVX.
A quick google and I found this page
Of note is the comment:
"Not all CPUs from the listed families support AVX. Generally, CPUs with the commercial denomination “Core i3/i5/i7” support them, whereas “Pentium” and “Celeron” CPUs don’t."
The Intel page for your processor here does not show AVX support either.
Sorry!
Thank you so much for this response which I found very helpful. I am now in the market for a i5 replacement laptop.

Per the StarNet2Gui readme:
Second, the tensorflow.dll was compiled to support AVX instructions
and will only work if your CPU supports these AVX instructions.
Which means that CPUs made before 2011 will not work. Also says it's memory hungry and won't run on a potato.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I had read the StarNet2Gui read me. The Intel 4415U CPU was launched in 2017. I have not been able to find out whether it supports AVX instructions and hence my post. I'm not sure whether it's possible for Dell to have incorporated a potato in the laptop but I suspect there may be a lot of chips.
If I need to buy another laptop to run StarNet V2 would any I5 or above launched after 2011 be ok. Is the graphics card spec an issue?
As you may have realised, I'm not particularly IT savvy and quite ancient and so very much appreciate your help.

I have been running this app successfully for sometime on my old Lenovo i5 laptop. Sadly the Lenovo keeled over and had to be scrapped. I have managed to reload all my software and folders onto an older Windows 10 Home Dell laptop with a 2 core Pentium Gold Intel(R) CPU 4415U, with the exception of the StarnetV2 app. When I try to activate the exe a notice comes up Application unable to start correctly (0XC 0000142). I'm not sure whether this is something simple like a missing driver or whether the lower spec CPU and video card on the Dell just cannot cope. As I use AffinityPhoto2 I tried downloading Russell Croman's StarXterminator plug in free trial. When I tried to activate it through the filter button using the trial key I got the same error code.
As this app is such a good bit of kit I'm not sure whether I need to come up with the money for a new i5 or better laptop or not. Any advice in layman's speak would be very much appreciated.

Very nice image. I don't recall the isthmus either.
I always assumed the darker areas were exposed bed rock or boulder fields whilst the lighter areas were sandy and the changes were due to winds blowing the fine sand around. I am probably wrong but a working hypothesis.

Was thinking about this just this morning.
My wife casually mentioned that she read online that boiling water more than once is harmful. My jaw dropped, so I went online and - sure enough, there are such claims scattered around the web.
Ok, so it is a known thing that people tend to write utter nonsense just so they can publish something and earn some money of people reading that (or watching you tube videos and so on). This is unfortunately not limited to odd individual here and there - it has become mainstream in journalism - write sensational things, and don't care about accuracy, truth or if you are in fact writing utter nonsense, so we can't expect general public to behave any better then professionals.
Problem is however much deeper if we start including AI in the equation. Most AI / Chat bots nowadays use hive mind approach to knowledge. What is stated on majority of sources online - must be truth / fact. On the other hand - we have copy / paste journalism and just passing on the "news" / articles without any sort of background check, so some things become "common knowledge" - even if they are completely wrong.
This problem is going to just grow larger if "trusted" sources like AI / Google / Chat bots start serving the same content as being "valid.
An interesting issue for AI that I had never considered.
My son several Christmas ago made us an ‘Oracle’ portal. Essentially a Raspberry pi with display sampling our internet Wi-Fi feed and presenting snippets of news on the wall behind our breakfast table. When he originally programmed it there was no limitation on the date the item was published, so now we get a mixture of contemporary and ancient news. It’s a bit like having a wall mounted time machine with disgraced politicians reinstated and the dead resurrected. We have old favourites which we look forward to seeing displayed in between current events. Time is slippery stuff and seemingly information once published by the news media lasts forever. The internet randomly sampled is tantamount to looking through Alice’s Looking Glass.😂

Generally lucky in Lowestoft as Suffolk County Council turns off the LED lamp outside my house at 11.30pm. Also helps that it is on a short pole on the North side of my house which blocks light from it spilling onto my backyard.
On balance I prefer the use of well designed, installed and controlled LED lighting but remain concerned regarding it’s impact on moths and bats, both of which have declined locally.A new shorter pole has appeared next to the first. I’m hoping it’s for a non-illuminated information sign, the one with the two old age pensioners with walking sticks.🤣 George

There are a few Android ones mentioned in this article on photographing the night sky with a smartphone. https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/astrophotography/astrophoto-tips/smartphone-astrophotography-use-your-phone-to-capture-the-night-sky/
Thank you for your post I will forward the link to my daughter. Many thanks George

My daughter Alice is keen to take some night scape photos from rural Oxfordshire. She wondered if there is a good app she could download for capturing starry skies with her phone? Many thanks in anticipation.

Welcome back and hope your recovery goes well. Mrs H has had both her hip and knee replaced this year and recovery particularly from the knee op has been slow and painful but she is getting there and pleased to have got both done.
Best regards George

Lovely image - feels very 'real' somehow
Thank you for your kind comment. I always think images near the terminator create a feeling that you have got nearer rather than enlarged the view.

Jupiter with the GRS and Europa and Io. There was a significant amount of hazy high level cloud over Lowestoft the night (6th October 2022) I captured the video clips for this composite image. The Moon was also waxing gibbous.
The videos were captured with my 5 inch Meade 500 Series Apo Refractor from our Backyard in Oulton Broad Lowestoft Suffolk (Lat 52deg28min north) using 3x and 2.5 Barlows and my colour QHY5-ll planetary camera. The image was stacked from a total of 13000 video frames.
Data processed using PIPP, AutoStakkert3, Registax6, AffinityPhoto, FitsWork4 and DenoiseAI.

Saturn taken with my venerable 5 inch Meade 500 Series Apo Refractor from our Backyard in Oulton Broad Lowestoft Suffolk (Lat 52deg28min north). 3x Barlow and QHY5-ll planetary camera. Compilation of best 5000 frames from 12000.
Saturn is still low over my neighbour's roof and was subject to low altitude mirk and light from a rising full Moon. I dug four of Saturn's moons out of a lot of 'stretched' noise so was very pleased when subsequently I checked with Stellarium and found they were in the correct locations. Data processed using PIPP, AutoStakkert3, Registax6, AffinityPhoto, FitsWork4 and DenoiseAI. Like me all my kit is getting on a bit so I was quite pleased with the result obtained with the limited aperture of a 5 inch scope.

Decided my solar white light filters had seen better days and so Flo sent me a well packed BaaderA4 sheet of film. Flo was right it did ‘Contain Clouds’ and it has been raining off and on in Lowestoft since it’s arrival.
