  1. One of the most recent images, 2 hours ago from a C8...
  2. It has to be a mistake, because it's now at a higher mag. It was surely because of atmospheric distortion and probably the use of cameras. it's like when the comet was still approaching. It's not accurate data.
  3. Must have been a mistake 😐. Besides, there are lots of photos of the comet today and it looks the same as yesterday, but with a bit longer tail and a bit brighter...
  4. Mi old Nikon D90 should capture this as well. On July 6th, July 8th and July 10th, I will try and take a look at the comet. Also, I've seen some images that show a slightly curved tail, but not a fan-shaped tail...
  5. Well, for me it's more like McNaught... Maybe when it goes to dark skies we may see 15 or 20 Degrees. Who knows! PD: Hale - Bopp's tail was around 15 degrees, not 40. An example of a comet with that tail was the Great Daylight Comet in 1910.
  6. Many more images are appearing on Twitter and other websites, looks that it'll soon be naked eye visible on south European countries...
  7. Phew! I was kinda getting bored without anyone to talk with... I'm lucky with the weather... The comet will stabilize in brightness for a few days, so I think I'll manage to see it from the 4th to the 10th of July at dawn with my 180 Mak. Then I will go to Calar Alto observatory and see it at dusk on the 16th or the 17th, when it will be between +1.5 and +2.5. Also consider that the photo is through an ED80 scope.
  8. And the first images are showing that the comet is bright and fine! The estimated magnitude is between +0.5 and -0.4 (I didn’t make the photo, Oscar Martin Mesonero took it from Salamanca, Spain).
  9. This comet resembles PANSTARRS back in 2013. It's positioned in a similar way that NEOWISE for a few days. I'll try to see it before sunrise on July 6th and 7th.
  10. Let's hope it survives perihelion! Still 2 days to wait... And -0.5 to -1 mag that day ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2020_F3_(NEOWISE)#:~:text=As of the 30th June, recently developed a second tail ) .
  11. Some reports have said that the comet was mag +0.7 when it left the LASCO C3 field. I don't think it made it that bright that early, but if it did, it's better than +1.5 magnitude as most people say... EDIT: So, the comet DID leave the LASCO field at that magnitude, well, +0.8, but it's still really good!
  12. Well, I'm getting sunny and hot days until the 11th or so. Since then, few cirrus clouds but nothing else...
  13. So the comet has left the LASCO C3 camera field. Now we have to wait for a week or so. Fingers crossed
  14. I think the comet is likely going to be like PANSTARRS back then in 2013... About the moonlight thing, the moon is going to be in the other side of the sky when the comet is in the sky...
  15. Wow... I still can't believe it's true... Finally, after almost 30 years, the northern hemisphere is (possibly) having a major comet.
  16. Yup, and if the magnitude is the one I said earlier, the maximum brightness is going to be crazy!
  17. Well, the second magnitude star Alhena has entered the LASCO C3 camera field. Honestly, the comet is quite brighter. Maybe mag 1.2
  18. I don't think so, but if the comet was fading, then it would be a sign. Look what happened to SWAN
  19. The comet is really getting better. I think the tail (or tails, idk...) looks quite short. That's surely because the comet is pointing close to the SOHO... I hope I'm right. Here, the comet last monday and right when I publish this comment I think the comet is likely going to be similar to C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) back then by 2013, or even better!
  20. Is it me, or is the tail expanding in this page? https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/lasco-coronagraph
  21. Yeah... This is the first time I've ever seen a comet, I'll try to bring some photos as well. The comet's coma is brightening as it had to... I expect the comet to be a bit brighter than magnitude 2.
  22. Well, I'm already happy with tis comet being this bright! Imagine how people would react when (maybe) the comet starts developing those horizontal lines! That would mean the comet would be brighter than 1st mag!
  23. What do you mean with that? If it's the perihelion, there are 9 days left. But in my country it's quite in a good position at sunrise an July 7th 'till July 13th... I guess you mean the time left to the comet to appear in your place...
