Starpal on AliExpress do them up to 30cms.  I recently needed a shorter version and couldn't find any with slots in the right place in the UK or EU. They came within 2 weeks.

Oh great! But is that the mini(less wide) dovetail bar?

While checking the Flo webshop for one more time, just to be sure they really dont have this version (11” long mds bar), i did find a dualside dovetail plate from William Optics.   And if dimensions given with this plate are correct(38 mm width), it might be a good option.  They are 245 mm long and have some long holes/slots in it.   Not sure that smaller side of that WO bar correspond perfect with the ADM mini dovetail system.
Thx for the tip.  I’ll check the Ali app.

  2. Am i correct that only ADM offers a mini dovetail bar?   I need a 25+ cm mini dovetail bar with some long mounting holes in it.  The mounting holes on a place other then the ones ADM offer.   Maybe some of you know if this size dovetail bar is manufactured by other companies also.
    thx

Couple of eps to add to the collection. thanks very much  @Robindonne for the 3.8 Eudiascopic- it looks really nice. Didn’t realise it had a built in barlow- looks great quality. It’s branded LichtenKnecker Optics, a Belgian optics company, but the letters  BAPL stamped into the barrel i think indicate it’s a rebranded Baader Planetarium ep. Can’t wait to try it out on Mars next ckear night 🤞

    RJ9 connector.

I have fitted these motors to all my solar scopes

Thanks.  I knew i might be wrong about the rj10.    Oke only solarscopes for a reason?   Aren’t they not that good for your mainscopes.  Many thanks for the link.   Very helpful

  5. Im not sure if the rj10 is the correct connector. (The small old telephone connector). I’m planning to install an Orion accufocuser on my scope.

is it possible to connect to- and control these small motors with a system like stellarium?

Perhaps any of you got these working other then with the 4-button remote controller.

I assume the asiair doesnt accept it but if Stellarium does, i will consider to swap the whole asiair for stellarium.   The list of restrictions of asiair is getting a bit long.

    thx for any advice.

  6. If it has a lot of moving parts or electronics, i dont think its a smart move to order from there.  Eyepieces and guidescopes are maybe at the limit of astro stuff to buy from ali   And even guidescopes can end up with broken glass after national transport (from experience). But its your choice.

  7. Just ordered some dustcaps £ 0,78 each.
last year some eos/T-rings, 2” nosepieces, small nylon-tipped screws etc.   These items are also sold by european companies, so not a bad deal.  A complete setup is not something i would by from ali.

  8. Hello From the other other side of the pond.   Today i only examined and realized i need a lot.   Really a lot.   Ordered belts and wheels a week ago to make a motorfocus like your project.   So didn’t do much other then considering what else is needed.   And if my list of wanted items is finished, there will always pop up an advertisement of something i didnt even know needing it.

  9. I understand its part of the rules.  And thats really okay.  But a reason some people forget about it could be found in the way we offer in The Netherlands for example.  We have a marketplace that offers the option to ask for interested to bid on it.  Sometimes you are afraid of scaring of people with a high price and sometimes you dont know yourself what its worth.   So it is not that strange if someone forget to price their items. And the way the mods and even members remember those, is really friendly I think.

Can you post a link @Robindonne?

I thought i pasted it here.   Also for myself.   Couldn’t find it anymore but placed an order yesterday at (i think) the same shop.
Only advice i can give is to first place all the needed sizes in your cart And then select the whole selection/shop and pay for all.   Otherwise you pay €3,- shipping for each

I can provide the full transcript of the full exchange of messages I had with RobinDonne if required.

I hope this sets the record straight and I hope that no false statements will in future be attributed to me.

The percentage of seriousness was about 0%.   It was a reaction to a post before from Bomberbaz.

    Sorry

Those Equinox ED's are real gems! i would love to hear about first light.

They are really beautiful i think.   And i cant tell beautiful story’s, cant even describe the scope due to the lack of experience, but it didn’t disappoint at all.  There was chance the 100 would be better in detail.  But i cant tell yet, so im already in love with this one.  The first scope i think i will keep forever.
