Thank you for your comments , I am not experienced in photography and I only have a pretty basic iPhone I would like to obtain better images and I do have a canon ESO1000d camera, but I don't know if this would produce better images than my phone.

Hi , I received a white light solar filter today and was able to use it briefly later today.
I already have a Celestron filter for my 6se and this shows the Sun in an orange /yellow light as I always thought and saw the Sun to appear.
The white solar filter obviously shows the Sun in a white light and I must admit I was taken aback it didn't look right to me .
After awhile II started to get used to the image but I still lean towards the orange /yellow image .
I noticed three areas of sun spots one at 2oclock another at 3 o'clock and the last one at 7 o'clock(all images reverts.
The white light filter was used with the SkyWatcher80 ED refractor (made a safety strap from velcro as an added precaution) pictures by phone

Hi the forecast for my area was for cloud cover so I didn't make any effort to observe the Moon.
Ay 10 30 pm I was locking up and checked my car and low and behold the Moon looked fantastic.
For speed I set up my skywatcher AZ5 with my skywatcher 80ED refractor and managed about 15 minutes of super lunar views, the seeing was really good I was a very happy bunny

Hi I went out at various times to try to observe the Sun but only for a brief look due to the clouds and showers, I did not notice any sun spots through my 6se with filter of course.
The Moon was visible but as the sky was very bright the view was very pale.
Later in the evening I switched to my Skywatcher 127 skybox and the seeing had improved but it wasn't long before the clouds rolled in.
At approximately 9 30 pm it looked like seeing was improving so I set up my 4 inch refractor and had some good views but the Moon was going behind the trees so I called time and poured a G&T all pic s by phone

Hi
I set up my 6se today on the off chance the Sun may appear for a while, and a while it was about 2minutes.
The sunspots were great to see and hopefully tomorrow may be better your pics are great

Nice topic ,
when I first got into astronomy I obtained and still use my 1966 edition of Nortons Star Atlas love it.
I and a few like minded others used to star hop to locate M13 m57 etc and had great delight when we had located our targets.
I later obtained Sky Atlas 2000 and its companion and then the Sky Atlas 2000 charts on a black background with white stars in 26 charts
Today I use my two Celestron goto mounts and love them the best ever for locating lots of targets , I have graduated onto digital means as well who knows what the future will bring?? enjoy our pastime.

Hi the weather here has been rubbish and was surprised to see that the local weather forecast predicted a clear spell at approximately 8pm.
I set up my Celestron 6 se on its goto mount and the predicted clear spell arrived.
My favourite object ,the Moon was as crisp as could be and I spent couple of hours viewing it lots of detail, the crater Bullialdus was readily visible with many other features a very enjoyable session all images with my phone

Hi I went out at about 8.15 and the moon was well placed,I set up my Skywatcher 80mmED telescope on the AZ5 mount and the view was very clear but smallish so set up my Skywatcher 127 on a goto mount.
The view was stunning and I-tried various combinations of eyepieces and a Barlow .
I noticed a crater on the terminator Had a broad black band running vertical and a very conical shaped crater giving a broad dark band at approximately 3'o clock .
I increased power and had some really great views of surface features. the crater with the dark bands looks like it was Albategnius but I'm no expert on craters

Hi I was in my workshop earlier this evening and was about to close up when I noticed that the Moon was visible.
I unlocked the door and I already had my Skywatcher 127 on my Newley acquired AZ5 mount so I quickly set it on the Moon as the seeing was not to good due to cloud
I used my phone to snatch an image

Hi I recently purchased a skywatcher AZ5 head from FLO and a very nice piece of kit to for set up and go.
I did not purchase the tripod as I already have several and I placed it onto an old surveyors tripod it was very firm but tad heavy
I decided to hot bed my Celestron 6se mount and designed a bracket to carry the AZ head as well.
The bracket fits the existing recess and uses the same 3 bolts that secures the 6se telescope to the mount .
It works very well and is really sturdy and quick to set up

Hi I have various binoculars but the favourite are the Celestron 15x70 pro mounted on a Manfrotto NAT mount which has a centre extension tube fitted .
These binoculars come with a very good mounting bracket with can carry a red dot finder I remove the handle when in use the tripod head is a fluid one which is great to use and very rigid

Hi the focus is very fine and you can go past it I suggest that you aim it at a reasonably close target to get the feel of it
I had a similar problem with my own 6se
the moon
