Wow this is excellent. The images are stunning and so pleased you got to share it with your family. They'll remember the views for a long time. It's a beautiful vista too. 👍

I really love the almost silhouette of the foreground too. Gives it a lovely contrast.
It's great you snagged some Perseids too. One to be proud of.

Ive made a short video on how to make a layer and mask and using Gradient x terminator. not a pain promo or anything just a program i always find useful when doing any sort of astro shots. I am going to do a couple more videos with some free software for making rapid luminosity masks and how they work and "easy" they really are.

Took a trip out to a spot i have had on the radar for a while. Last night low mist and clouds was forecasted which meant anything low was probably going to be pants. I had no friends to play out so i asked two of the other kids and Mrs K if they fancied a late adventure with the bribe of a hot chocolate. Driving up to this spot about 22:50 we all seen a fireball out the car window due south. brighter than any light source around and my high beams. I arrived at the llyn and first impression looked promising so grabbed a few shot with the kids and Mrs K tucked them in cosy and made my way down in my waders. As you can see in the selfie jpeg i was surrounded by mist but the light wind kept it at bay long enough to even capture some in the stacked images and made its own shadow on the surface of the llyn. I love making memories with the family and last night was one of those nights.

Love the meteors!
just a shame my home city 60 miles away makes this light dome but also allowed me to make a nice composition.

I went to a lovely spot night to try out my new Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN Art lens... How tight are those stars and the color!
top right of the frame is M31 also known as the Andromeda Galaxy, our closet galactic neighbour. Just up off center is the double cluster in the constellation Perseus, and just below that we have a lone green Perseid. This is a single image no stacking to show just how good this lens is!

Hi guys looking for ideas for a head for a grab and go set-up. The scope will be a short tubes frac like the gt81. So about 4kg payload.
Ive looked at the skyetee2 and just wondering if there's anything else like that around.
Thanks

Gorgeous images - that airflow looks terrific !
Glad you had more success than my Thursday night, with a 6 hour round trip completely thwarted by clouds that no forecast seemed to predict! 🤦♂️
Those are the chances we take for darker skies. Makes it Worth it when it pays off.

I had a wicked trip out last night. took @wookie1965 to my dark area in wales. Apart from the horrific journey due to an accident we arrived to absolutely stunning skies.

I was about the other night at my not so local 2.5hour drive dark sky location testing out the new celestron Starsense Explorer 10 dobsonian. I made a video of the setup process of the app. It's incredibly quick and easy .
The scope itself is lovely and one thing I noticed is how fast the image settled down in the eyepiece making focusing efficient. That's for another video 😃
