  1. Hi just in case there are any lunar observers who are not aware of it I came across this virtual map at quickmap and you can zoom in really close on most areas. https://quickmap.lroc.asu.edu/?extent=-90,-30.2535655,90,23.5177033&proj=10&layers=NrBsFYBoAZIRnpEoAsjYIHYFcA2vIBvAXwF1SizSg
  2. Both replies are very helpful thank you very much
  3. I have an 8”sct on alt azimuth mount. I don’t plan to change my mount what is the best type of imaging to do with this setup? Is planetary imaging the same as eaa? This may sound silly but I can’t seem to find a clear path through all the information that’s available. Currently I use a philips spc900nc webcam to occasionally image the moon, is this considered eaa? what would be my best camera setup without having to worry about upgrading for the foreseeable future. Thanks
  4. Books, tv, websites and magazines that show images of objects but don’t necessarily make it clear that this is not how it will appear to you when you observe it for yourself.
  5. After a previous discussion im torn between getting an 8.8mm or a 6.7mm so I was just wondering what your highest power e/p was how often does it get used and on what objects? what is your most used High power e/p
  6. Ok so maybe I need to reconsider the 6.7mm
  7. When I last partook in this hobby I worked late shift which meant finishing work at midnight then going home to observe. Now I work days which means I’m in bed by 9.30pm and up at 5.00am how on earth am I going to manage. so I’m interested how do folk on here juggle astronomy, sleep and work or life in general.
  8. No I don’t use 127mm scope anymore. I now use a sct 8” and I wouldn’t use the focal reducer with the 30mm i currently use 68° Hyperions
  9. I already have a focal reducer so that’s why I thought 30mm would do for dso’s
  10. Hi all I’m getting back into the hobby after some time away I always seemed to spend a lot of time switching between eye pieces so this time I was thinking of having just 4 ep to choose from as opposed to 12. I have a an 8”sct and was thinking of getting the Explore Scientific 82° im considering the following 30mm 18mm 11mm 6.7mm first do you think these particular e/p will work well with this scope and does the choice above sound sufficient. regards Lee
