Maurice,
I think it will be good, I’ll let you know. The only disappointing thing is that the handset doesn’t have the Sao catalogue it has the hiparcos catalogue instead. That said, I will mainly use it with Skysafari so shouldn’t be an issue. I like double stars and the Cambridge double star atlas has Sao and had numbers not hiparcos. 🤨
If you want to put your wife in touch with me, I’ll explain why she needs to get you one of these 🤣. For that matter, anyone else who needs to persuade their other half to invest, just put them in touch with me and I’ll see what I can do. 😜
Steve
Steve, your generosity knows no bounds 😁

Looks like a great mount Steve, I will be interested to see what you think of it.
Can you talk my wife in to buying one for me please.
Maurice.

Looking good here also, keeping my fingers crossed.

My cleaning kit arrived and I have just successfully cleaned the lens on my eyepiece, it now looks like new.
Thanks again for all your help.

Spray the cleaning cloth not the eyepiece. You don't want fluid in the eyepiece. Good purchase for sure.
Glen.
Thanks for the tip Glen.

Churchill seem to be reasonable as I found out about 2 years ago when they insured both the house and contents for less than the house contents alone with another company.
Try compare the market which gives you a list of the best rates.

Thank you for your very helpful replies, I have ordered a lens cleaning kit which contains all the items that were recommended. Just relieved that I can save my favourite eyepiece.

Yes a clean cloth, but It does have to be spotless clean. As any minute grit on it will scratch the eyepiece glass. You may have to use something like baader wonder fluid if the grease is noticeable to remove the grease.
Hope this helps
Yes thanks for the advice, as this is my favourite eyepiece I will order some Baader wonder fluid and the right kind of cloth.

I have just touched the lens on my favourite eyepiece as I didn't realise the cover was off, and it has left a 4/5mm circle of grease from my finger. Is there any way that I can clean it ??

Hi and welcome to SGL. Have you considered looking at the well known auction site ? as you can often pick up a bargain.

I finally got an hour of clear viewing last night, although I had to keep rubbing my eyes as I thought I was dreaming 😀

I am not going to get my hopes up as the last 2 attempts have started with clear skies to cloudy skies within half an hour 🙁

I thought you would have learned by now that you have just caused tonight to go cloudy 🙄

Can anyone remember the last clear sky? I purchased an Esprit 100 weeks ago and not had a clear sky since.
So it's your fault we have not had clear skies 😀 send the Esprit 100 back then it might clear up.

Brilliant.

I got to see Jupiter on Friday night for about 20 mins, not really long enough for my eyes to acclimatise but still worth it.
