Seems strange to me that any country (countries) deliberately make it difficult to buy from them 🤔

Looks like a good buy for the price.

Congratulations on your good fortune, If as you say it has been packed away in it’s box then with any luck it shouldn’t have come to any harm and the mirror might just need the dust blown off.

I find this company https://www.technobotsonline.com/ to be very reasonable and helpful.

Hi Rob, welcome to SGL.

The Skywatcher Maks have a standard finder base which will take the 6 x 30 finder no problem.

I have an ST120 mounted on an AZ5 Mount and do not have any problems. My OTA came with tube rings and a dovetail bar fitted and it slots into the AZ5 without needing to slide it in which makes it very easy.

On the other hand I suppose these people don’t end up with lots of specialist tools that you only use once because you don’t want to cause any damage by botching the job. Not mentioning who 🙄

I bought the Skywatcher auto focus unit and also had some bits made up by a fellow in Portugal specifically to fit the 127Mak with the dovetail bay positioned for an alt az mount. Works very well but because of the long focus travel of the Mak I disengage the belt from the focus knob to get rough focus quickly and then just slide it back onto the knob.
I always thought the Skywatcher motor focuser was too slow which is why I used a higher rpm motor. If you are interested I bought a 4Tronix remote controller for the Skywatcher motor and it gives you 4 speeds, which when used with a 12v power supply gives a much better choice of speeds. They are on sale at FLO for about £36.00 and are well worth it IMO.
