  1. That's the hardest I've worked my camera. Also pleased and surprised at the mount tracking for 40 seconds. I'll see what I can push it to next time I use it.
  2. Oh I'm pleased with it regardless. I was aiming to make the head out at the start so yeah . I'm happy with that.
  3. I was just dicking about before I packed up last night here. The core of andromeda with a 9.25 sct@6.3. Same mount and camera as above but only a few 20 second exposures. This was right above my neighbour's bedroom with the light on. I hope they didnt look out.
  4. Same set up but only 20 exposures. I think my sensor was screaming at this point as it was straight after the horsehead.
  5. As messy as this is it's more than I expected to get with a none eq set up. That being said I did see a really good one on here somewhere. Anyway wo 72mm megrez. Nikon d5300 about 80 40 second exposures co astrotoaster. Iso 2500. Evolution mount.
  6. Ah ok, there's always another accessory with this game isn't there thanks for that.
  7. I've looked online but the only topic seems to be about observing, I'm more concerned about sticking my camera on it which I haven't yet or cant but feel it's not going to be any different. Something almost a mile away surely is classed as infinity?
  8. Hello all , I picked up a wo 72mm megrez yesterday. It's a lovely looking thing but I'm a bit concerned. Now it's too cloudy to test it on stars but I cant achieve focus on an object close to a mile away. I've never played with a short tube refractor before. Is this normal?
  9. Cropped and messed with in the free photoshop app. 9.25 sct @ 6.3 . Nikon d5300 iso 2500 90 exposures of 30 . Stacked and stretched in astrotoaster.
  10. Also I was thrilled to see my first glob. It looked great through the eyepiece.
  11. May aswell throw this one in. Same set up but had some stellarium issues, it went wrong and sent the mount mental. Anyway will try this one again with way more than the 5 exposures I did here and better framing ect.
  12. Thanks. Think I'll have another go tonight if weather permits.
  13. About 90 30 second exposures. 9.25 @6.3 . Stacked and stretched on the fly in astrotoaster. I'm still not sure if the way I use astrotoaster qualifies for this thread or the eaa.
  14. First time seeing a glob. M13 I only stacked 5 30 second exposures. Not sure if the 5 was better than the 1 but hey ho.
  15. I dont mean numerous exposures but copying the same exposure many times.
  16. Well I was thinking more like copying numerous 30 second exposures. All I can come up with is maybe a raw cant be copied with the same qualities but I've never tried.
  17. Hello all. This is probably a stupid question but it's one that's been nagging me. If stacking is to increase signal to noise ratio what's the reason we cant take 1 exposure , make numerous copys and stack them, or am I just making assumptions and we can? Thanks.
  18. No I was racing against clouds that night. I'll try next time the weather permits if it ever does.
  19. Hello all , bare with me why I try to make sense here. So the red shaded corners of the top image. Is that vignetting from using a 6.3 reducer on a 9.25 sct? I'm hoping it's the red shaded bit and not either of the parts with the arrows. I'm hoping the area with the arrows is a mixture of my lack of experience, a 97% moon really close to the target and light pollution. Also this was done via astro toaster, now I'm currently using jpeg fine and small just because my laptop handles it better and I'm led to believe shooting raw wont really benefit me on astrtoaster. I'm going to try fine and large next time when weather permits. Any thoughts on how that will affect the image? The camera is a d5300 . Thanks.
  20. Google andromeda 200mm look for the one on reddit. I think that's the one you're talking about
