Great image and I particularly love the colour tone you chose. This is inspiring as I have a quark in my sights in the near future, doing the research now as I would like to do pretty much the same imaging
you've just posted, nice work!

Wow! it is beautiful! if you're not happy with this then it is unfortunate because what is there to improve? I'd say you have it plucked, seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
I just made myself hungry.

Nice!

We are most certainly not alone, the truth is out there.

Great video, thanks.
Regarding a much larger body would it not make sense to detonate a massive nuclear warhead at some distance so as to change the objects trajectory without creating many smaller threats? or am I watching to many sci-fi flicks 😄

My question is how that impact may or may not have affected it's speed or trajectory, I would assume it has but by how much.

It's a wonderful image!

Six! but they're good ones, I keep eyepieces like I keep friends, few but good.

Wow this really is a beautiful image!

The owl cluster, always a treat to see since no matter how many times I’ve seen it when I first put eyeball to eyepiece those owl eyes just pop!

Ok, you’ve said you don’t like a barlow, and I do understand your objections. However, everything is a compromise in one way or another. I do have an original Vixen LV 2.5mm with 45 deg apparent field, the modern replacement SLV has a slightly wider 50 deg field.
If it were me I’d accept a compromise, use a barlow or live with a narrow field.
Long shot- a used 2.5mm Nagler. But that’s a compromise too with 12mm eye relief, or a used 2-4mm Nagler zoom, or…whatever…
Ed.
In that case I’d rather stick with my 5mm XW with my 2.5 Powermate as it maintain the 70 degrees of the XW, as much as I dislike a foot long appendage on the diagonal. It is more power than a prime 2.5 but I don’t think they make a 2x Powermate which would be closer to what a 2.5 prime would give.

Just finished looking through eyepiece choices online for a good 2.5mm with as wide a field as possible considering I mostly use manual equatorial or Alt-az mounts. To my surprise I found one! I repeat, one…the Tak TOE but with a FOV of 52 degrees and a price of $500 I was quickly turned off. Am I missing something? surely there are more choices in the 2.5mm range, I have no problem justifying the money but not for 52 degrees, not for a super sharp straw. Some may ask if I have a barlow which I do, a 2.5x Powermate but I’d rather not use it for visual as I hate fumbling eyepieces into Powermate and he whole appendage into the diagonal to end up with a foot long trunk sticking out of my diagonal which to make things worse, throws my alt az out of balance, suddenly.
Anyone know of a 2.5mm fitting my needs? Thanks.

From what I gather you’re saying you would not enjoy the EQ mount when viewing multiple objects in a session? I have to agree with the pain in the butt comment. When using my non goto Vixen GP (which I love) I literally end up in every position you can imagine during a session, tightening and twisting the click lock a hundred times on my knees, butt, stomach lol looking near zenith. Fortunately, I often get so absorbed with targets for 20 min at a time that it softens the blow a bit, a respite between contortions. Having said all this, I do have a high end alt az mount but I’m not crazy about using it for one reason, i love doubles and I love how they look at high powers, I simply cannot nudge the scope smoothly at high powers without my star suddenly disappearing which leaves me endlessly nudging to find it again. This is where I love the smooth slow motion controls on my Vixen, yes it’s a pain but for doubles I need it’s slo motion controls.

😂 I'm sorry I'm not poking fun at your M31, I am cracked up about your brilliant bit of comedic expression.
"The cons" had me folded over, hey its there clear as day and unmistakeable, a great attempt!
Wibble wobble, jelly on a plate!

Great! I assume you've had no issues with the quark? thanks
