  1. While observing the moon I noticed this harsh shadow it certainly looks like a shadow but, it doesn’t cast in the correct direction considering other shadows around it. No, I’m not implying it is an alien artifact lol, just not sure what is causing this particular “shadow” which is pointing in the wrong direction considering the direction of light comparing to all other shadows.

  2. I wouldn't worry too much, i have ordered several small pieces of gear in March and have waited for weeks on items which usually arrive in a few days. If the scope was out of stock at the time you ordered then who knows how long before they receive it before shipping it to you. Lunt is a relatively small outfit, i recall shipping my LS60 tilt tuned to them for a pressure tune retrofit in 2018, it arrived at Lunt in 3 days. It was 10 weeks before i got it back, one would think a retrofit would be a short wait, unfortunately not.

  3. That's an interesting phenomenon, i have the 3.5 and the 14mm XW, I have yet to notice such an event, there are just so many variables involved. It may be very difficult to track down

the exact cause, i hope you solve it and, if you do, please share as the 7mm is next in my collection.

  4. OOHH! i have never seen the solar disc in lime green! i am totally loving that! amazing how an image I've seen a thousand times can look so new. You've just inspired me to get into solar imaging again after some bad attempts.

Well I would be over the moon if that was my image , I am still trying to work out how to get to the next stage after Auto stacker

Are there any youtube videos related to auto stacker you may benefit from? i myself am not familiar with that program, i do find youtube very helpful.

    been looking at a powermate

    need to save some pennies

They are the king of barlows in the sense that the maintain the eyepiece qualities and appear invisible in the visual/imaging train. Just to give an idea exactly how inexperienced I am in imaging, I had no idea you could use a Barlow when imaging lol, I thought I discovered something new haha. Using the Barlow struck me after  I had already taken many exposures.

nice image can i ask what scope/camera/exposures etc you used?

Bare bones imaging as I am not into AP save for occasional planetary shots. For this I used my Orion Eon 115 triplet, Celestron Neximage 5 camera with the TeleVue 2.5x powermate. As for exposure, I believe I did a 1600 frame exposure (video) and chose the best 200 using Registax.
